My loan officer said we could get our new home while having our current home on the market if we did one of two things- paid off our credit card debt or for me to get a job to cover the minimum monthly payments on the credit card debt. This was the only way for us to have two homes at once. If neither of those things could be done, then we had to sell our current home. We paid off almost all the debt and I got a job that covers the minimum credit card payments and some and not to mention my hubby got a 6% raise. We paid down the debt by selling every piece of furniture we own and other odds and ends and even my husbands car. Now, after all this, a hard hit on my credit and frustration with a loan officer who cusses, never returns phone calls or emails and hangs up the phone on you, none of the things that we did to get our new home would have helped us, except to sell our current home. Our new home will be under rural development and RD never allows a second home unless the current home is a manufactured home or trailer. So, we sold everything, took a hard hit on my credit and got a lousy minimum wage job for nothing. Luckily in 6 days we will be closing on the sale of of current home and closing on our new home, but having our new home does not make up for the fact we are out furniture and a car, when those things did not have to be sold in the first place. I even talked to the bank that is funding the mortgage and they said it sounds like my loan officer was stalling us (our new home is new construction so our loan has been processing for 5 months pending the finish of the construction) in hopes our current home would sell so she could make a buck. What can I do to recoup the damages? I want at least a refund on the money we spent for this loan officer to process our loan. ideally, the money spent to process the loan and money to replace our car and furniture. What can I do?

“Companies located in New York, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere across the United States are fully capable of manufacturing the range of clean-energy components, and U.S. wind farms and other clean-energy projects financed with stimulus money should be buying American-built parts,” the letter reads.

The letter comes on the heels of a report by the Investigative Reporting Workshop and ABC News, which found that eight of every spent on wind energy projects through the stimulus package went to a foreign company. Total recovery funds spent on wind energy projects total nearly billion.
The report estimates stimulus funding for wind projects have created roughly 6,000 manufacturing jobs overseas and just hundreds in America. Thus far, the Recovery Act has paid to create 1,807 wind turbines to fuel American homes, businesses, schools and other buildings. Just 588 of those were manufactured domestically, according to the report.
At a press conference Wednesday, the Senators pointed to a specific wind farm project in West Texas that is seeking an award of 0 million in stimulus funds for a .5 billion project. According to Schumer, the Texas project would create around 3,000 Chinese jobs and just 300 American jobs.
"The goal of the stimulus is to strengthen the American Economy, and that means creating jobs here in the U.S. not in China," he said.

Are they going to step up to the plate and confess to the American people that they have no job because of their actions?

What about the debt how will they pay that off if there are more and more Americans losing their jobs?

My mom has been in the process of buying a Modular home since December. She decided to put a manufactured home on her land. She entered a legal contract with the dealers that had a closing date of June 2010. Her loan was approved, but the place continued to put off closing. SO, she called the loan officer. He said that the problem was that the dealer wasn’t licensed thru the government to receive the government loan she was approved for. The odd thing is this is the loan they use to get people to buy homes from them. So we are starting to wonder how many other people went into contracts with them, and this dealership knew that they were not approved by the government to receive the funds from these rural development loans. Thus, making this place a scam! They have pocketed not only the 0 non refundable deposit, but also my mom’s land!! Which they put into the contract that as soon as the modular home was on the land, the land and the home were both the property of this dealership until closing. Well, I really think that my mom should get a lawyer because this place is a scam! But my question is can she sue for the tax credit she is going to miss over this?
I think we were thinking along the lines of punitive damages, not actually sueing for the "tax credit". Sorry maybe I worded this question wrong. Anyway, thanks for the answers. She’s going to talk to a lawyer~

Is the rent included with the electricity and water? or separate?
Are there additional costs besides rent, electricity and water?
Does the value of the home go up or down?
Is it easy to finance?
Other info?

Basically I am looking to lease a Manufactured home, aka double wide. I want to know if there is any way of doing so with no credit. I know they have tightened down the past few years on loans, but can a 10% down payment change their minds? We dont want to go through the hassle of finding and apartment, and being stuck in a lease. I’m moving in the next month, and want to possibly go this route. We can afford it, but will they see that?

I mean think about it. The credit bubble caused a huge increase in home loans, car loans, credit card applicants, all that fun stuff. Well where there is consumption there is manufacturing. The recession hits, which happens on average every ten years. No one is buying, manufacturing is gone. Then top it off with mass job exports and bankers being laid off because of credit freeze.

I began the process to refi my house with usbank they charged me up front with my visa credit card an appraisal was done. One week prior to closing they called and changed the terms of the loan saying that because the home is a manufactured home the terms were different. When the original appraisor called I asked if they knew that the home was manufactured, they said no but would contact us bank for another appraisor to come out. Which they did. Our original loan was with us bank. They had this information.Needless to say we did not continue the transaction w/them. We refied with another bank i have now discovered that us bank charged my account the 0 appraisal fee without notification. We would have continued with the loan had they not changed the terms from 30 year fixed 0pts to 20 years 1pt. I don’t believe they are correct in doing this as THEY changed the terms of the loan! Help I want my 0 back!

Ok…Im just a nervous wreak. We are trying to buy a brand new manufactured home, through a USDA loan. We were pre-approved, and I sent in all the proper documentation to the mortgage company. They now tell me that they will send it to underwriting. Ok, she keeps telling me everything looks good, but I am still nervous….we have found the house, locked our price and done everything up to this point….is my odds good that it will go through underwriting. I just dont understand clearly any of this

My husband and I were pre-approved for a FHA loan on a manufactured home through that company’s lender. But after researching, we think a site built home will be better in the long run. We went to Wells Fargo since that is where we bank. Currently the FHA loan is in underwriting. Since we were approved once, does that mean we will get approved again and for the same amount?
**We went through our bank for the site built home and explained everything to the loan officer. We have gave her our paperwork and when I spoke w/her earlier this week for a status, she mentioned our paperwork was given to the processors and is in underwriting. I figured she meant in the pre-approval process.
Also, we never signed a go ahead w/the manufactured home company. Instead we went to our bank for the stick built home loan.

"cities that have lost major parts of their population have seen their flagship industries, which include coal, steel, oil, and auto-related manufacturing, fall off or completely collapse. America moved away from its status as an industrial superpower in the second half of the 20th century as the services sector rose to replace it. Millions of U.S. manufacturing jobs have moved overseas."

As manufacturing has dwindled due to lack of domestic sales…..Employers move jobs overseas or society relies too much on things made overseas.

To many of you………thanks for being honest on how you spend most of consumer dollars purchasing imported things. Happy new year and please think before you complain about outsourced jobs.

US carries 12+ trillions of national debt. Every American average owes 000+ credit card debt not mentioning their mortgege, home equity loans, student loans, car loans,….US owes Chinese 2 trillion dollars in the form of treasury bills. US has lost most of its manufacturing capability to foreign nations. Both government and its people have spent all the money they never had at its first place. Yet, we have been hearing the bailout bills everywhere during past 2 months. Could anyone help me to understand where government bailout money comes from besides printing more paper money?
Which nation is willing to deposit their money into World Bank?
American taxpayers have broken already. The total tax revenue of 2007 is only 2568 billion dollars and its 2007 spending is 2730 billions.
China has got hurt by loaning 2 trillion dollars to US, why should the Communist nation buy more US T-bills?
If my memory serves me right, during our 1930s’ great depression, Russia was the only country that had their GDB growing at 20+% every year and it helped to transform the nation from an agriculture nation to an industrial country just in time to do battle with the Germans during WWII.
If we look around the world, China and Russia are the only nations that are not affected by global financial mess. My concern is while the wesntern nations stay in great depression, instead of loaning money to the World Bank, China and Russia have the best opportunity to grow their economy, their military power to surpass US and European nations. Then, there will be a new balance of world power. Will such reality concern our government and American people?

These who aid and abet illegals are claiming to always be breaking laws to help the poor illegal aliens, do you believe it to be for humanitarian reasons or are these people out to make money off illegals?
Should they be excused from their criminal actions because they whine they are doing it for humanitarian reasons?
Should all who aid and abet any illegal be prosecuted?

Man ordered to prison for selling fake documents to undocumented immigrants

By Melinda Rogers

The Salt Lake Tribune

Published Jan 3, 2011 05:12PM
Updated 4 minutes ago Updated Jan 3, 2011 08:44PM

Martin says he is a humanitarian who wanted to help undocumented immigrants get the same chance to work in the U.S. that he had been afforded when arriving legally from El Salvador years ago.

The U.S. District Attorney’s Office says Contreras-Parada is a criminal who manufactured more than 1,000 fake immigrant visas, permits, green cards, border crossing cards and other documents in a business venture where he profited from undocumented immigrants’ desperation to find papers allowing them to work after crossing the border illegally.

The two theories collided in federal court on Monday, where Contreras-Parada was sentenced to serve 41 months in a federal prison after pleading guilty in October to felony fraud with identification documents and selling firearms to a felon. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2010.

Contreras-Parada’s case landed in court after he became one of the first arrests made by the Utah Attorney General’s Office SECURE Strike Force, established in June 2009 to target crime by undocumented immigrants. The strike force — financed by a two-year, .2-million grant from federal stimulus funds — includes a fraudulent documents identification unit.

Authorities found 36 hologram laminates for making fake alien registration receipt cards, 183 blank Social Security cards, 13 fake complete Social Security cards and 61 partial alien registration receipt cards. They also found cutting tools, fingerprint pads, glue, lamination papers and photographs when they served a search warrant on Contreras-Parada’s West Valley City home in August 2009.

The strike force found evidence that he had manufactured and was prepared to create more than 1,000 fake documents, said Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob Taylor.

Contreras-Parada, 46, told U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell that he only sold the documents as a way to help undocumented immigrants, some of whom were living in overcrowded apartments in Salt Lake County with no way to make a living.

Contreras-Parada also admitted to selling a Glock 21 .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol to an immigrant who feared a person he hired to sneak him into the country illegally might cause him harm.

“There are people who live here that live in a little apartment and can’t get ahead. I didn’t make any riches in the sale. I sold them to people who needed them to work,” Contreras-Parada said before Campbell handed down his prison sentence.

“I didn’t harm anyone. I didn’t sell drugs or make anyone sick. I helped people who wanted to support their families.”

Campbell said she would weigh Contreras-Parada’s years of working in the community as a legal resident into his sentence. Contreras-Parada’s wife, son and daughter attended his hearing in support.

But Campbell also told him that his crimes are “serious” and said the number of false documents recovered in his home by investigators was troubling.

Contreras-Parada responded that some in law enforcement who arrested him likely had ancestors who immigrated to the U.S. at one point “without papers.” He acknowledged he broke the law but said he did it for good reason.

“They were very poor people who asked me for help,” he said.

Taylor said that Contreras-Parada owned rental property with his wife to earn income outside of the document mill. His wife worked in a factory, he said.

Contreras-Parada’s attorney, Alexander John Helfer of the Sandy-based Tejada Law Firm, said his client’s ability to stay in the country once he finishes his prison term may be in jeopardy. Contreras-Parada had status as a lawful permanent resident but could be processed for deportation to El Salvador as a result of his convictions.

The Foundation Meets and exceeds Michigan Code. So says the Local Building Inspector. I’m looking at an FHA loan. They go by HUD guidelines. HUD says, the blocking ontop of the Piers must be Mortared, it is NOT in this case. The House is straped down to the surround footing frost wall. Does anyone have any experience with FHA/HUD Foundation Guidelines, existing foundations, Not new, and will this pass inspection if the Cinder blocks between the concrete piers and chassis are not mortared? I am finding all kinds of different answers..

CLosing is next week.. What can still go wrong with the loan? What are the chances I wont get the house. P.S. supposedly it has to be reviewed by FHA Board or something due to it being a Manufactured home, but I think thats just for the House, not my income/credit stuff.
